A standard MOT test typically takes between 45-60 minutes to complete. However, if your vehicle requires any repairs to pass, this will extend the time needed.
If your vehicle fails the MOT, you’ll receive a “refusal of an MOT test certificate” explaining the reasons for failure. You cannot legally drive your vehicle on the road if your existing MOT certificate has expired, except to drive to a pre-arranged MOT test or to a garage for repairs.
Please bring your vehicle registration document (V5C) if available, although this isn’t mandatory. If your vehicle has tinted front windows, bring any necessary certification that confirms they comply with legal requirements.
